Geraldine “Gerry” Leggett-Grant
Geraldine “Gerry” Leggett-Grant
March 17, 1933 – July 19, 2025 was a beacon of joy, a welcome surprise to her parents James Elton & Gladys Leggett, and a loving sibling to her brother Elton Leggett. She discovered her passion for swimming in the Feather River and became an avid tennis player for life. Gerry’s remarkable spirit earned her the title of Honor Queen for Jobs Daughters in Butte county. Her marriage was blessed with a daughter, Sabrina, her pride and joy. A shining star, Gerry’s light will forever inspire. As a distinguished alumna of Oroville High School 1951, Butte College and Sacramento State 1955 , Gerry later achieved her Master’s degree from CSU Sacramento in education. Her dedication as director of the Children’s Center at Cosumnes River College, passionate Zoo Docent at the Sacramento Zoo for over 20 years, and selfless volunteer at Casa de la Niño’s, left a lasting impact. Heartfelt gratitude to Macero Elder Care for their exceptional care of Gerry. Survived by loving daughter Sabrina Grant Stewart, cherished son-in-law Phil, adored grandchildren Parker Stewart (Emily) & Shelby Pafford (Matt), and treasured great-grandchildren Asher & Fletcher Pafford. Gerry was overjoyed that the zoo was not relocating.
