Caroline Micaela McNeil

Caroline Micaela McNeil, born June 10, 1947, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 10, 2026. She is survived by her sister, Josie Mathews, nieces; Kristina Aldana and Jennifer Gulebian, nephew; Eric Otto, grandnieces; Katelyn Lomax, Vivianna and Carina Aldana, brother-in-law; Michael Mathews, numerous cousins, best friend, Sonia Soto and many other close friends. She was loved by many and will be missed by all. Carol was preceded in death by her parents; Adolfo Puentes Galvez and Consuelo Galvez, her sisters; Rosemarie Galvez and Amelia Olson and her nephews; Mark David Terrill and Andew Otto.

Carol was born in Oakland, California and raised in Berkeley, California. She started her career with the State of California in Berkeley soon after she graduated from high school. She eventually moved to Sacramento where she was promoted through the ranks to Associate Budget Analyst. She retired in 2004 and continued living in Sacramento where she developed meaningful friendships, especially with her dear friend, Sonia. Their relationship was one of true affection and they remained dedicated to each other over the years.

Carol’s generosity to family and friends did not go unnoticed. She never asked for anything but always gave so much. Carol led a simple life. Being around friends and family was very important to her. She loved to entertain and enjoyed inviting family and friends to her home whenever she could. She also was a social planner for family events, co-workers, and her dear friends.

Carol was a strong woman, had strong opinions, yet gentle in her own way. She will truly be missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege to know her.
