Betsy was born on December 30, 1952, in Jerome, Idaho, and spent her early years at her parents’ farm in King Hill, Idaho, the youngest of three children. When she was three her family moved to Los Angeles, California, where her father owned a grocery store. She attended public elementary school and Torrance High School, and was an excellent student. She entered the University of California at Berkeley and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in History. At Berkeley she met fellow student and future husband Gerry. After graduation she worked at Callan Associates, a financial firm in San Francisco.
Betsy and Gerry married in 1975 and moved to Davis. Betsy became a bookkeeper for her husband’s family farm and businesses. Lloni was born in 1979. Betsy took a very active role in the lives of her grandchildren, her greatest joy. She loved golf and was a longtime member of the Davis Municipal Golf Course Monday Niners, as well as a guest on many courses in Northern California. Betsy was a great help to the adaptive handcycling community, assisting with transportation and general support.
She will remembered for her kind and generous nature, her smile and laughter, her love of life, and her interest in others.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Yolo Hospice. A Celebration of Life is being planned for Spring.
