David Joseph Calavano

David Joseph Calavano, fondly known as “Cadillac Dave,” passed away peacefully at his Sacramento home on February 1, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He was 65 years old.

Born on March 26, 1958, in San Francisco to Joseph and Virginia Calavano, David was a beloved twin who brought joy and passion into the lives of those around him. His deep love for cars, motorcycles, drumming, casino adventures, and cherished moments with friends and family defined his vibrant existence.

David is survived by his siblings Linda (Hector), Debra, and Steven (Angela), as well as his children Davina (Javier), Ryan (Nicole), and Bellamina Calavano. His legacy lives on through his seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Virginia Calavano, his brother Joseph (Joey) Calavano, and his son Joseph (Joe) Calavano.

In his leisure time, David found solace and joy in playing the drums alongside childhood friends and his dear companion, Vincent Solano. Whether tinkering with cars, cruising on his Harley, or testing his luck at the casino, David embraced life with an infectious laugh and an unwavering zest for living every moment to the fullest.

Services to honor and celebrate David’s remarkable life will take place on February 19, 2024, at 12 PM at the George Klumpp Chapel of the Flowers.

David’s memory will forever be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him, and his spirit will continue to inspire those he touched along his extraordinary journey. May he rest in eternal peace.
