Robert “Bob” Anderson

Robert (Bob) Anderson passed away at age 86 on August 25, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. Bob was born on a farm in Elgin, Nebraska, to Emil and Hazel Anderson. Bob was educated in a one-room schoolhouse and then attended Elgin High School. He graduated from the University of Nebraska Lincoln with a degree in Civil Engineering and worked for the state of California Caltrans for 40 years. Bob enjoyed coaching youth soccer and baseball for many years in the Greenhaven/Pocket area. Bob was an avid golfer, and also enjoyed boating, swimming, camping, and playing softball. He and his wife Marcie traveled around the world together for many years on airplanes and cruise ships. Cruising was his favorite way to travel.
Bob is survived by his wife Marcie, son Scott (Jill), son Steve (Sonya), granddaughter Sidney, nieces Toni, Julie, and Susan, and nephew Jim. He was predeceased by his brother, Lyle and nephews Paul and Mark. A memorial service will be held at Faith Presbyterian Church at 2:00 pm on Saturday, September 23, 2023.
