Ted George Hamilton born on July 3, 1925, in Tacoma, Washington. Passed away on December 16, 2021, in Sacramento, CA. He is survived by his children, Gary (De’Nai), Patti (Ken), Sharon (Tony), and David (Michele); 10 grandchildren, Jennifer (Josh), Lindsey, Matt (Tiffany), Stephen (Melanie), Danny, Jessica (Brydon), David (Valerie), Michael (Kaitlin) Dustin, Patrick (Lollie), 19 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. Preceded in death by the love of his life Irene after 61 years of marriage and his cherished daughter Diane and her husband Joe. He was also preceded in death by grandson Joey Munso and great-granddaughter Lily Hamilton.

He was raised in the Pacific Northwest where he grew to love all seafood. He looked forward to attending the Holy Spirit crab feeds every year where he was always the last to finish eating. He loved music and played the piano and had a beautiful voice which he showed off every Sunday at Holy Spirit Church. Dad enlisted in the Navy in 1943 right out of high school. Before being deployed, he contracted rheumatic fever and was sent to a hospital in Southern California. He was then sent to Alabama where he worked at a recruiting center. After his discharge from the Navy, he returned to Seattle, Washington, and attended a commercial art school. He was a talented artist and us kids will always remember the “Daddy Money” he made for our monopoly game. Dad met Irene in 1948 through a buddy of his. Irene lived in Vancouver, BC and he would cross the border by bus to see her every weekend. They eventually married in 1949 and settled in Seattle where Diane and Gary were born.

Dad worked in sales and was transferred to Sacramento in 1952 where they completed their family with the birth of Patti, Sharon, and David. With young kids at home, Dad attended night school and received his accounting degree. He then worked for the University of California, Davis, as an accountant where he retired in the early 1980’s. He enjoyed watching the Oakland Athletics, the San Francisco Giants and the San Francisco 49ers. He enjoyed playing golf with our Mom and went on many golf excursions with the Couples Club. Dad will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
