Walter ‘Wally” Hawkins
Walter Frank Hawkins 84 passed away peacefully surrounded by friends and family at his home on May 11, 2022. Wally was a veteran who served 4 years in the Air Force Reserves and 4 years Active Duty in the USAF.
Wally was born on May 19, 1937 in Los Angeles, CA to his parents Walter and Katherine Hawkins. When he was just 17, Wally decided he wanted to join the Air Force and was stationed in both Oakland and Japan.
After moving to Clearlake, Redding, and then Sacramento, Wally started working for Mercy Medical Center and Dignity Health Center for 20 years. When he wasn’t working, Wally had a passion for music. Wally was a Gold Member of the Jazz Jubilee Society of Sacramento. He sang jazz at several of their events.
Walter was predeceased by his beloved Grandmother Mattie Lee Cannon, his Mother Katherine Hawkins, and his Father Walter Hawkins. He is survived by his Wife Pamela Hawkins.
There will be a Graveside service for family and friends at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, California
