Yee Fong Chan

Yee Fong Chan, born on June 7, 1944, passed away surrounded by loved ones on February 29, 2024. She was preceded by her beloved husband, Wilson Chan, whom she married in 1964. Yee Fong, affectionately known as Evelyn, is survived by her daughters, Ena and May, her son, Sam, her son-in-law, Mark Cratsenburg, and granddaughters, Sara and Rachel.

Evelyn had many passions in life, including singing, traveling, and flower arranging. She also had a deep love for children, which led her to pursue a career as a kindergarten teacher until she became a devoted mother. Upon immigrating to the US with her family in 1977, Evelyn and her late husband owned and operated a Chinese restaurant in Chicago. They later retired to focus on caring for their cherished grandchildren.

In recent years, Evelyn faced adversity with grace and courage after enduring a stroke six years ago. Despite her health challenges, she remained a beacon of love and strength to her family and friends.

A devoted mother, wife, daughter, and sister, her nurturing spirit and boundless compassion touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Evelyn will forever be remembered as a model of kindness and generosity, leaving behind a legacy of love that will continue to inspire those whose lives she touched.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at 1 pm at George L. Klumpp Chapel of Flowers, located at 2691 Riverside Blvd, Sacramento, CA 95818.

May her gentle soul find eternal peace, and may her memory bring comfort to all who mourn her loss.
